I want to take a moment here and recognize a high moment in this Presidential race on both sides, but especially with John McCain, who supporters have been saying some horrible things about Barack Obama. Watch this video below:
I was given a lot of flack for writing positive things about about Barack Obama in the past. I echo everything John McCain said in that clip. I also want to note that Obama was nice enough to mention the kind words that McCain said at a rally just a little later. In this hard hitting campaign, we must not forget that both of these men want this country to be a better place. While I disagree with Barack Obama on many fundamental issues, he will work to make this country a better place.
P. S. Does this mean issues like William Ayers ought not to be in play? No, it is quite common to judge people by the company they keep. Still, regardless of what the relationship of Obama and Ayers is, I believe that Obama is a decent family man who we ought not fear.
P. P. S. This was a political move by McCain, but that doesn't mean it was not sincere and worthy of praise. Every move on the campaign trail is political. From Huckabee saying "Merry Christmas" to Obama and McCain visiting the Twin Towers site on 9/11 and Barack Obama calling John McCain "A true American Hero"
