I am so sick of Michael Jackson it is making me sick. I tried watching the memorial today, but I could not stand it and switched to CNBC, the only news station of any sort that seemed not to be covering Jackson. I agree mostly with what Peter King said, though he took it a little over the top. Jackson was a freak, and overall, he is someone who should be looked down upon, not praised. Now, I fully expect at his memorial he will be painted in a better light than he ought to be. Still, the things said by Reverend Sharpton, for example are way over the top. Sharpton said there is nothing strange about Michael. Anyone with an ounce of truth knows that the least of things Jackson is strange. Sharpton also wants a US Postage Stamp for Michael Jackson.
Sheila Jackson Lee is introducing a bill to congress in order to honor Michael Jackson as a humanitarian. This is a bunch of crap. I give Obama props for not going to these levels, as the press kept pushing him to say how great a man Jackson was, and he was just focusing on his skill as an entertainer. I am all for honoring what is good in a man, but let’s not speak untruths about someone. Jackson was a talented man who was a freak and as a whole, a stain on society. That is not to say he won’t have positive aspects that live on. Still, someone who is strange at best and a pedophile at worst is not someone to be idolatrized. In fact, I don’t favor making an idol of any man, but let’s not make a freak like this an example to the next generation. |

I was reminded today for no apparent reason of the classic Destiny's Child Song "Say My Name." Mom actually got her hair done in the video like Beyonce when she is in the "Orange Room". It was classic as she have to find a good "black" hairstylist. She did and it mostly worked on a Irish Native American mix. I have always been a fan of Destiny's Child and watch the Video from this great group below: |

Who is this Larissa? Am I in some romantic relationship with her? Well, the unfortunate truth is that I have no relationship with Larissa. In fact, I have never seen her in person. The reason I love Larissa is because she is a very fun player to watch on Jeopardy! As many of you know, I watch every episode of Jeopardy! I see so many players who make so many horrible daily double bets. I don’t always watch Jeopardy on the day it is aired. I store them up and usually watch the whole week’s worth on the weekend. Well I was doing that today watching the Tuesday episode and this very quiet, short, introvert type is playing on the end. After the first break, Larissa is at $3,800, nothing special. The champ, Mary Kay was sitting at $6,000. After the Jeopardy! Round, Mary Kay was still leading at $10,000 and Larissa is at $8,000. It was clear this game would be won by one of the two women. Shortly into the double Jeopardy! I fall in love with Larissa. The Opening category is “General Science” Mary Kay gets the $400 question, and Larissa gets the $800 and $1200 question. She finds the daily double with the score Mary Kay $10,400 Larissa $10,000. Larissa wagers $8,000 on the daily double! I have seen so many players play Jeopardy so horrible. Most I yell at for being too timid. This Larissa looks like the class case to make a $1,000 wager on the question, and she stuns with a $8,000. The way she says it is with no special emotion. She gets the question right and has a huge lead. From there she pours it on. She gets the second Daily Double, and this time she wagers $7,000 on the category “Shakespearean phrases” Larissa has a solid lock on the game, with $42,200 going into final with Mary Kay with a normally decent $18,800. The next night Larissa wins another butt kicking. The night after that, not a lock, but another good win. On the Friday show, she was down by the narrowest of margins going into the final. I was so happy when this other women got the final wrong, guessing Anabaptist instead of the correct question, Amish. Thus Larissa is a 4 day champ and I can’t wait to see her on Monday. You all should tune in on Monday. Now that I tell you about her it will probably be a dud, but she is a good one. If you want to figure out why she has a good betting style, her husband was on Jeopardy! and defeated by one Ken Jennings. Kind of ironic that she is the best bettor I have seen since the great Ken. |

I am a huge fan of Jim Cramer, host of the show Mad Money. He is a market genius, an I watch him every night. I could should you the classic Cramer clip, the one where he go bezerk and says "there nuts, they know NOTHING" Instead, I put the clip below, which includes a song I am becoming more attracted to, Soulja Boy. Its just a trip.

As a kid, people would ask me what my favorite show is. I would always answer then same thing, "The Price Is Right" I still love the show, I love the flair, I loved Bob, and I loved the games. I liked to thing I am real good at the games, knowing optimal strategy and getting ticked off at the TV when people were making such stupid moves. Let me give you a quick example. Each round starts with the 4 contestants bidding on an item. The person who is cloest to the actual retail price without going over wins that prize and gets to play a game for a much better prize on stage. It is clear that being last is a huge advantage. Still, I have seen so many horrible bids, but this has to be the worst. One guy bids 600, what does the next lady bid? 599. What a Moron Anyway, about Drew Carry on the Price is Right. You can watch it on cbs.com as in 2007 stations have learned to put their shows on the net. Drew did a decent job, but he still has a lot of work to do. The biggest thing he needs to work on is explaining the games. Bob was so clear and precise when he expained the game. Now, Bob has been doing it for years, but Drew needs to be able to do at least half as good as Bob did. The other thing Drew needs to work on is his timing. On the "Power of 10" (Drew host this game show this summer), the questions take a long time and it is all about the buildup. On TPIR, the show moves very quickly, Drew did a poor job of making contestants commit to decisions. The biggest mistake was on the game "Its in the Bag" where it took way too long, 5 min as I timed it. That game should have taken 1/2 the time. The reason this is so important is that Drew need to keep it moving so the editing can be as smooth as possible. These things Drew should be able to learn in time. Since Drew is from Cleveland and he flaunts it, a lot of people had on shirts that said "Cleveland Rocks" or other Cleveland related things. That is a cool thing to see. Still, I saw a group with yellow shirts that said Pittsburg Rocks, needless to say, no one made it on stage from that large group. |

![]() I am watching, as I have the past 7 seasons, Big Brother. This season is a typical one in almost all respects. We are down to 7 people now, and lying will take more and more of a role in this very fierce game. Let me go through the people left in the house and the strategies they have chosen. Amber, Danielle, Dick, Eric, Jameka, Jessica and Zach are left. Amber: Amber is an emotional wreck. She cries all the time and is just too emotional. If it was all just an act, she would win an oscar. Dick once said she was so transparent, and he is right. Amber will stay around long enough, but she won't be able to win the whole thing Danielle: If you look at who is winning the most competitions, it is Danielle. She is locked in with her father, Dick, in a strong alliance. This is great for her cause Dick takes all the shots as the evil one. Problem for her will be final 3, if he or her father don't win it, I would not expect her to stay around. Dick: This man is the biggest butthole (sry, I cant come up with other verbiage) in the game history. He basically makes fun of everyone and treats them like crap. The best thing Dick has going for him is that everyone would like to set next to Dick final 2. Eric: Eric is a great player who is crutched by America. He is "America's player" and they are telling him to do dumb things. Still, he is playing a good game nonetheless. The short Jew makes good friends, and having Jessica on his side was a good move. Jessica: The dumb blond from the Midwest is playing a great game. If she is smart, she could very well win this game. I started hating her with he annoying voice, but now I love her. I don't see how she loses the vote when if she gets to final 2 Zach: Zach is the floater now. Basically Zach needs others to take each other out. Still, I don't think he has much of a chance this time. The game gets really interesting, you should all watch it. Check out old episodes on CBS.com |

I first heard Sara Bareilles at a Ben Folds concert last May. I though she was a good singer/songwriter, and never looked any further into her. On my music rotations I ran into her again, and she is so great. I love this song titled "Love Song" which is about her not writing a love song. Watch it below: I thought I would just share this great song with all of you. Also, you should all check out my new Music section of the website, where you can listen to 15 of my favorite songs. |

Many of you probably know the classic song by Vitamin C called "Graduation." Before last weekend, I did not. This song is absolute trash. It shows everything wrong with 90s pop. It takes Pachebel's Cannon and adds these horrible and cheese lines. I figured I would try to beat it into submission by listening to it multiple times. I still hate the song, but now it is stuck in my head. Maybe deep down I really do like this song. Enjoy it for yourself below. |

On Saturday, I turned on VH1 and the top 20 countdown was it. This brings back memories from Junior year of High School when watched this show weekly. Anyway, there was a song called "Fidelity" by Regina Spektor at #9, which I fell in love with right away. The song is very interesting, but I can't figure out exactly what it is about. I think it is clear has something to do with commitment. It starts like this: I never loved nobody fully Still the video is even more weird. She is having a relationship with a headless man, and then she drops this necklace and the the man has a head. I would love to hear what you guys think this song and more importantly, what this video is about. I guess this is what you get when you start listening to anti-folk, or something like that. She reminds me of a cross between Tori Amos, and multiple Nicolas Shayko Award Winner, another Jewish Songwriter, Vanessa Carlton. Anyway, watch the video below and give me your thoughts: |
